TNT esophagus - Clinical Trial

¿Cuál es el Propósito de este estudio?

For this type of cancer, standard treatment includes radiation therapy along with chemotherapy medicines such as carboplatin and paclitaxel. In this study, people will also receive extra chemotherapy for up to six months after the standard treatment is finished. This extra treatment is called consolidation chemotherapy. It uses common cancer medicines such as fluorouracil, leucovorin, oxaliplatin, and docetaxel. Some people may also receive a medicine called durvalumab, which helps the immune system fight cancer.

¿Quién puede participar en el Estudio?

This study is for adults who have a newly diagnosed cancer in the food pipe or where the food pipe meets the stomach. The cancer must be confirmed by lab testing and be at a certain stage that has not spread too far. People in the study will need to receive treatment with both radiation and chemotherapy. They must also have kidneys, liver, and blood that are working well enough to safely take part in the study.

The purpose of this study is to determine if adding additional chemotherapy, called consolidation chemotherapy, to the standard treatment can improve the tumor response.
