Predicting Post Stroke Limb Spasticity- LOVA3 - Clinical Trial
What is the Purpose of this Study?
We are doing this study to help develop a tool that doctors can use to figure out who might be at risk for developing muscle spasticity after a stroke. Spasticity is abnormal muscle stiffening that can lower people's strength and ability to move well. We hope this tool can help doctors catch this problem early and start treatment sooner to make therapy more effective.
What is the Condition Being Studied?
Weakness and Difficulty Moving on One Side of the Body After a Stroke
Who Can Participate in the Study?
Adults ages 21+ who:
- Either had their first stroke, or had a second stroke after having full recovery of their movement after the first stroke
- Have weakness or trouble moving on one side of the body, with scores on movement tests showing moderate to severe difficulty
- Were mostly independent before the stroke, with little to no disability that affected their daily life

- About 30 days after your stroke (give or take 10 days)
- About 90 days after your stroke (give or take 2 weeks)
