¿Cuál es el Propósito de este estudio?
After a one-time sample collection deidentified information about the study participants treatment and outcomes will be collected regularly from their medical records and entered into the Duke REDCap system for up to 8 years after enrolling in the study. Samples may be collected again if the study participant experiences a flare up of their disease.
Suspected Autoimmune Brain Disease
¿Quién puede participar en el Estudio?
People can join this study if they are between 6 months and 21 years old and are being evaluated for a possible autoimmune brain disease, which is a condition where the immune system may mistakenly attack the brain. Participants must be willing to provide a blood sample or a cerebrospinal fluid sample if they are already having a spinal tap as part of their regular medical care. They must also be willing to complete questionnaires about their health and allow researchers to collect information from their past and future medical records.

The purpose of the study is to collect and store blood and cerebral spinal fluid from patients with suspected autoimmune brain diseases to look for biomarkers.
